I don’t need the internet article to educate me you dumby… I’m hands on with this ish everyday. Wisconsin is the first cold state I’ve helped build solar. Everywhere else has been 90-100 degree temp regularly type places lol

Oh so you turn wrenches and don't understand the workings of the panels and the efficiencies and inefficiencies of the panels?

I get why you are so angry now...

I completely understand the efficiency of the panels wanna see a picture of my certs?

Solar modules are more efficient and produce more per hour in the winter, but still produce more gross wattage per day in the summer due to increased irradiance. Also it's really important to understand the difference between ambient and module temp. I rarely see over 85 degrees on my array as monitored by the inverter even with the temp is 105 ouside.

Finally, someone who actually knows. Lol freaking dumb ducks on this board man I swear

Never had a problem with the heat in Puerto Rico. Any modeling software worth a shite takes that into account.

So you are saying that solar panels are not a good idea along the Gulf Coast? I haven't measured it but I can guarantee my roof is hotter than 77 degrees F during the daytime. Probably around 150 degrees F at peak sun.

They might get a lot of sun on the coast, but one of the frequent hurricanes will greatly reduce their output.

Don't really care about your certs...

If you cannot understand that at higher temps the panels are less efficient, then they are pretty much useless...

Also, if you cannot understand why there are more panels in areas without much if any annual snow fall, even though they are hotter than other areas of the country, then there really is not much help for you...

And if you cannot understand that most of the commercial installations in this country are subsidized by government money in some manner or another...

Just take the "L" and move on dude...

Yea, the data monitoring that goes off the arrays to the inverter makes sure everything is running as efficiently as possible. Just installed a bunch of that ish up here near milwaukee

If you believe this you are an idiot. Literally some of the hottest places in the country have the most solar panels… and it’s for a reason you dumbass. Lol oil and gas corporate Schill here, just look at his handle

Less efficient doesn't mean they don't work, it means they aren't as efficient and require more panels to do the same job. Like engines at high altitude. Less avaialbe O2 so power drops.

quote:

How Heat Affects Solar Panel Efficiency
Many of our customers in Massachusetts want to know exactly how changes in heat can affect solar panel performance. Solar panels are generally tested at about 77°F and are rated to perform at peak efficiency between 59°F and 95°F. However, solar panels may get as hot as 149°F during the summer. When the surface temperature of your solar panels gets this high, solar panel efficiency can decline somewhat.

That said, keep in mind that solar panels are made from highly durable materials that are designed to withstand extreme outdoor conditions — from freezing winter weather to intense summer heat. Moreover, the exact temperature of your solar panels will depend on factors like air temperature, geographic location, level of direct sunlight, and roofing material. An experienced solar contractor understands how to select and install solar panels to minimize any minimal effects of heat on solar panel efficiency.

I guess Boston Solar are idiots too? Schills for O&G?

I assume you mean from flying off. The failure rate for properly installed solar is a lot better than most people think.

For example, an analysis of Sai Pan after Super Typhoon Utu showed a less than 3% module loss and .15% racking failure. Most lost modules were due to flexing and "popping" out of the installation clips. New high wind process is direct through bolt and should be better performance. And that's on flat roofs with pitched arrays (not ideal for wind). Low profile racking will perform much better.

Where did I say that? Are they are are they not less efficient at high temperatures? I'm not the one calling people idiots, big guy.

1.) A million dollar company is damn near an Mary Kay distributor.

2.) yes, they threw away their money to get more in govt kick backs fueled by radical environmentalists. So it was a net gain, but a huge loss to the American tax payer.

Any more questions

Yes! Yes they are. And it’s our tax dollars that are being thrown away. They are mandated or “incentivized” to invest in solar. Entergy is for sure.
