1. I wouldn’t say it is a lie as presented. I would say it misrepresents the situation without telling the whole story which you would like to tell.
quote:I used random victims to try to explain why the majority is overrepresented in a cherry-picked subset of victims. No one understood the point of that, I guess.
3. You have used “random victims” as an explanation of this misrepresented statistic.
quote:Great, I agree. I just wish we could agree that attacking lies with more lies is NOT the way we should go.
I agree that people are not picking victims because of their race. I think the whole use of race is a poor start of a study. As stated previously it should begin with different social behaviors, education, and economics.

Fine. Whatever.
biglego is now bigballs in my book.
quote:Yeah, let's stick to that instead of arbitrarily multiplying numbers to lie about the size of the problem.
But the raw numbers alone make black people seem pretty dangerous, especially to each other. And certainly these stats show that all of your side’s violence and crying is all out of proportion to the actual problem.

No it isn’t.
Because of your emotional response to the data, you framed a different question than the question answered by the data and proceeded to tell everyone how to calculate the answer to the question you like better.
Then tried to claim victory.
And failed.

That's why you upvote yourself twice and downvote others at least twice. Nobody believes what you are saying and throwing a hissy fit and calling people names doesn't make your point.
Want to keep going and keep looking idiotic, be my guest

I’m a reasonable man. You’re probably right about that particular stat. I took one stats class in college and...it wasn’t for me.

It is incomprehensible at this point that you still don't get that the "data" in the OP is manipulated arbitrarily, and as such is manipulative.

I get it answers a very specific question you don’t like and I understand the very specific question you believe is more important and or relevant.

I would say that the 45X should come across as so ridiculous it would choose the opposing view to then come to the realization that this statistic is misrepresents the situation. They would then have to explain it as you did then have to come to the conclusion that race is not the reason the victims are being targeted.
As you even showed ~2.8-4.1 per 1000 people of an opposing race are victims. This Is unbelievably well below the victimization within their own race; therefore, the answers to the reduction in violence seems to probably fall elsewhere.

Again, you can check with whoever you like who has access to my votes and ip data. I very rarely downvote, and I NEVER upvote my own posts. And I have zero alters.
But go ahead and believe your own made up reality. Everyone else here seems to.

I didn’t see where the graph claimed that.
You’re falling into the same trap korkstand did.

Did you miss the part where I swapped the black stats with asian stats to do the same thing? The result of performing the same arbitrary arithmetic arrives at the result that asians are 21 times more likely to commit a violent crime against a white than a white is to commit a violent crime against an asian. We are purposely compounding the demographic disparity to paint a picture (21 TIMES) that has absolutely no relation to reality. It is deceitful.

How do?
The statistic is correct, but what it means may not be clear. He presents an explanation for what is means. If you flip the statistics around to normalized by the offender and include all violent offenses of an offenders race. It will lower the number. If you make the statement that people are not picking victims due to race then you accept the lower number. Race is a horrible way to look at the statistics as the color of someone’s skin has nothing significantly to do with any of it in these times.

quote:Yep. All we have to do is look at the stats, which I linked to numerous times, to draw that conclusion.

Instead, we have people here defending the arbitrary number that you now call "ridiculous". Kudos to you.
