The cancer has probably metastasized. Gets in the lymph system and spreads. Amy should stay close to the phone.

Nope. He had adenocarcinoma of the pancreas.
Apparently hers was/is a neuroendocrine CA of pancreas. Can be very slow growing, much less aggressive and more treatable. Still doesn't sound like she has long at this point.

Looked up a few studies and biliary stenting does appear to be primarily a palliative measure. Median survival times after stenting in one study was 143 days and in another 2.4 - 10.2 months. It is likely though that the majority of these are in cases of adenocarcinoma and not neuroendocrine.
