re: Rally Against Nuclear War Going on at the White House

It really is amazing how many people can blithely discuss dropping a nuclear weapon on a country with which we are not at war. If Trump thinks North Korea is a specific and actual threat, have Congress declare war in the only manner prescribed by our Constitution. Undeclared wars waged by the Executive Branch are fundamentally inconsistent with the principles of limited government.

Someone said earlier we are still at war with them. Nothing was ever signed and trump does not need any approval

As I stated in in a thread earlier. He doesn't need congressional approval. We are technically still in a state of war with DPRK.

War should always be a last resort
So, generally that is a obligatory nice thing to say, but:
1) We did that in WWII and what happened there?
2) We missed opportunities to get BinLaden and what happened? I know not a war, but a "kind" deferral that bit us in the arse big time.
3) Might add Cuba in there too just for kicks...we turned it over to volunteer rebels and the Cuban people lived in Communist exile for the next 65 yrs...oh, and wait they still do.
It's an easy thing to say, but not always the best selection, at least that's where I stand.

Why do these fricks think everything's Trumps fault? Do they not know that NK has been "spoken to" for decades? Do they not know that they have threatened the US repeatedly for no cause lately? These people seem to have no life but resisting and protesting. They need to get a nuke shoved up their a$$e$
We can respond via military force without resorting to nuclear weapons. I'm not sure you or these protesters can appreciate the difference

Sucks for them, but we do not have to be the world's policemen.

Yet again, what do we owe the Cuban people? What over there is worth having Americans die?

Where were these people while North Korea was developing a nuclear arsenal?
No nukes, no nuclear war
No nukes, no nuclear war

Ok professor, show me proof where anyone but Kim Jong fat boy is talking about nukes?
I'm tired of people shifting on the president when he's standing up for the country after being threatened with nukes. Do you honestly think "talks" have not been tried yet? Do you know how long that country has been under sanctions but still propped up by china who laughs while enjoying the show?
Trump can lay waste to that shite hole without nukes so don't you condescend me like your u know who I am.

I'm not shitting on trump, some degree of military force is looking more and more inevitable and I blame North Korea. That doesn't mean I want to see nuclear war, which is hard for some of the chicken hawks here to understand.

Congress never declared war against North Korea to begin with. We entered the war pursuant to UN resolution. It's precisely why old-right, conservative Republicans like Robert Taft and Howard Buffett opposed the conflict in Korea. You know, when Republicans had principles and conservatism actually meant following the Constitution, regardless of how difficult it may be.

These people are afraid of another Iraq.
Don't worry... if we go to war with the Norks it will be over before CNN can even report on it.

Oh look, Code Pink decided to fire up the war outrage machine after taking off the last 8 years.

Obviously. I think everyone knows the difference
All of that is dependent on how capable you let North Korea become. No one here and no one protesting knows the exact odds of intercept or if we know the exact location of every single mobile launch system
Conventional means would have been a no brainer for the last few decades, and may or may not be for a little longer.

You think any of them would stand on the font line and defend this country?
