Did he know she was trafficked? If he thought it was a 16yo that was open to hooking up then it's shouldn't be a big deal since the age of consent in the UK is 16, so he did not see an issue with it. Just like some states here have it that low.
Your feelings/thoughts about an older man and a younger legal (age of consent wise) girl don't matter.
Now if they can prove he knew she was actually trafficked/kidnapped, not just paid and willingly did it, that's a different story.
(Btw let's make sure your feelings about him doing this would be the same if it was a hot older female teacher banging 16-17 yo students)

Bro it's a 16-17 yo girl not a kid. This is marrying age in many cultures, and even old in some. Heck not many on here could say they couldnt go back a few generations to find a girl in this age range married to an older man.
This isnt a pedifile act. People need to stop acting that a pubescent girl is the same as prepubescent child. I get the mental maturity piece and that the body isnt fully ready in the first few years of puberty, but world's of difference between the 2 naturally as God/nature is saying a girl is ready to procreate when she hits puberty.
For the record...my gripe is with people watering down pedophilia by grouping in pubescent males/females. Especially when 17yo girls are involved like when people called Matt Gaetz a pedophile when he was accused of hooking up with a 17yo. Hurts the true sick behavior of real pedophilia.

My feelings have nothing to do with this. If it was consensual between a guy that's 80 and a girl 16, I have no qualms. But, with what we know about Epstein and Maxwell, it's kind of hard to think the guy didn't know what was going on. He might not be criminally charged but he took advantage of a young girl. Dozens of girls 10 years or younger have given birth. Some were 5-6. Would you dismiss an adult sleeping with a 10 year old because the child has hit puberty?

Gaetz didn't actually sleep with a 17 year old. If he did, I would call him a pedo too. An adult sleeping with a 16,17 year old is sick behavior. Sure, the younger the victim, the more depraved it is. But watering it down by pretending they are not still children hurts the true sick behavior of adults having sex with victims that are not yet adults.

I didn't say he actually did, but that he was called a pedophile when accused of hooking up with a 17yo.

As I mentioned in my post there is a difference when it comes to body maturity in the first years of puberty, and that difference is ironed out by 14/15. Why this about the avg lowest age world wide for age of consent. Some are younger still, but none less than 13 I believe.
At the end of the day as a Christian imo there's no sin with having sex with a pubescent girl if properly married in the eyes of God. On the other end in the eyes of God it's a sin to have sex outside of marriage no matter the females age...young teen or elderly.
Nature vs society are obviously different. One thing we need to find a way to continue endorsing is the proper usage of pedophilia or that true sin of hurting one God's children gets diluted. A 16-17yo girl doesn't fall under this in God's eyes imo.
