Did this a few weeks ago and thought hey why not again...

This Constitution was not made for a day, nor is it composed of such flexible materials as to be warped to the purposes of a casually ascendant influence.

I think the 24-hour news cycle has helped exaggerate the differences between the parties. You can always find someone on TV somewhere carping about something. That didn't happen 20 years ago.--George H.W. Bush (Navytiger)

The world is not going to be saved by legislation.--William Howard Taft (Rougarou)

We want everybody to act like adults, quit playing games, realize that it's not just my way or the highway.--Barrack Obama (Geauxxxxx)

Pretty much narrows it down to four of them.

HW Bush. I googled. I’m sure Clinton, W, and Obama said similar things.

But that’s the thing. They all say that now (except Trump, who has a more pointed tack).

The fascinating thing to me is the way the spoken vocabulary and communication has changed from our leaders, even within the generations. That is why I post this and also give some history lessons. I love reading quotes from people, just to see how they view the world at that specific moment in time.

I actually do not know if he said it as President or as Chief Justice. So I included it as a Presidential quote, Nice job sir. You do not win a prize, well since we teachers do not make much money.

I’m not aware of when it was said either, but I’m a big fan of his quotes.

Got number 4 right.

Probably would have missed two, and I wasn't even close on others.

Who said the first one? It was not a modern president judging by the language.

The first one was John Tyler. 10th President. After Harrison died they had a huge "crisis". His father was the Governor of Virginia.
