President Trump needs to have 1/4 to 1/3 of the federal workforce eliminated by 2020.

Thoughts?

We have way too many federal employees in cushy jobs where they are either useless, redundant, or incapable of even doing their job - yet they are sucking up a ton of our federal tax revenue. Fed government is just way too big and the bureaucracy makes it hard for citizens to get an inefficient employee fired.

Many of these people are doing jobs the private sector could handle more efficiently and for a fraction of the cost.

He can cut that many by eliminating most of the top management positions; no one would miss them and work would speed up by factor of 5.

Frankly, we can just fire them and hire some illegals to come in and do the work. We'd save on wages and it's just so hard to find Americans willing to push paper around all day for $40,000 a year.

There are around 2.8M federal workings now. Laying off 700K-1M federal employees would be a bold move.

No need to layoff anyone to meet a reduction goal. Simply freeze the employees and don't back fill for attrition.

Approximately 600,000 people.

There are about 2.1 million civilian Federal employees.

Nah, definitely should cut the lazy, underperforming ones, and backfill what is necessary.

Some positions are not necessary. Hell, half the people in Washington HR positions are not necessary. They bog down processes and just make everything worse. Most agencies have HR people at the state level that can, and at times in the past did, carry out those tasks effectively, plus other administrative work as tasked. If they cannot, replace them.

Commerce Dept...bye.

Education, Labor, Transportation and Energy...cut 95%.

State, HUD and Ag...cut 80%.

Homeland Security...cut 60%. TSA is a joke.

Fire at least 10% in all the rest. When in doubt...cut.

Add food inspectors and to the CDC.

Audit the Defense Dept. annually.
