Do you think that's not happening with FEMA?

Great, but when are our lawmakers gonna make a bunch of these executive orders as laws? All this can be undone with the stroke of a pen by next dem in office.

Provide the funding to the States, let them run their programs and fund disaster response/mitigation when it happens…
Y’all recall how well it worked out when BP was paying damages and had to give it to various Louisiana politicians to then hand down to those impacted..
As op said sounds good in theory..

I was in the national guard for 10 years and worked plenty of hurricanes and floods. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an actual FEMA person. If their job is simply to pass out money to affected states it seems to me you could have an office of about 15 guys sending out the checks.
I've seen FEMA employees walking around with their "FEMA" jackets in front of reporters during Hurricane Katrina and either Gustaf or Ike. As soon as the reporters leave, they leave.
Also, I would bet my house that for every dollar the State scratches back from FEMA they spend 25 cents trying to convince the Feds the appropriate forms are filled out correctly.
I don't have a lot of faith in Louisiana government, but I'm sure the process would be more efficient EVEN WITH potential corruption.

If you've got a wasteful and corrupt local government and the people of your State keep voting that kind of grifting trash in, then it may be time to move. We had it in Alabama for years, and it took a geriatric old granny to step in and clean up the mess.
Got it backwards. I don’t want to pay for corrupt Alabama politicians running away with my Federal tax $$.
Screw “block granting”.

I don’t like government regulating private business.
No problem with one government regulating another government.

Lol that sounds like something a jackass on Facebook would post in an attempt to virtue signal to other jackasses.

Getting rid of the agency does not mean getting rid of the ability to fund disasters.
FEMA didn't exist until 1979. The federal government has been helping with natural disaster long before 1979.

You’re a fricking idiot. FEMA literally left people in North Carolina homeless and destitute because they weren’t democrats. Talk about fricking Nazis …and you support that kind of shite?!?!

What's aggressive about getting rid of an government agency that does stupid shite?
As far as I'm concerned, Trump has a lot of work to do.
