So first off, there are actual legit survivor or survivors.
They talked to a lady who is 106 years old and remembers it. It was likely very traumatic at the time.
But this is overblown. I think Wikipedia has the number of deaths as 12, 10 white and 2 black. And Wikipedia is not conservative.
In regards to reparations, people don't understand. It's the long game.
20 years ago these ideas were met with derision. The more they are mentioned the more normal it seems. Eventually within my lifetime reparations will be given and it will be massive and it will then be said to not be enough.
I don't want this to happen, I'm just saying unless there is a tremendous blowback this is going to happen.
