I truly believe the Dick Cheney/PNAC/neocon plan for dealing with global peak oil was to park our troops in the middle of the world's biggest oil patch (not to steal it, but to police it). I would bet there are more nefarious plans out there. I'm a Malthusian on this subject, anyway. Mother nature bats last. Good luck feeding 8 plus billion people when fossil fuel production goes into irreversible decline.
