They received adequate training with the resources they had. Not the best, not the worst. The issue is not the training. It is an understanding of national pride or recognition (which they do not have - and there is nothing wrong with that) that produces the necessary cohesiveness in combat. Weapons, ranges and immediate action drills cannot overcome that.

That is a copout. Any Military Officer that doesn't recognize the importance of quality training, has never been an instructor at any level. As a Flight Instructor you can have the most patriotic, motivated student and give him a multimillion dollar aircraft to train in, but if you give him poor instruction he is destine for failure or worse. That is the weak link and has been banged in our heads since day one in the military.

You are going to lecture me about training? A fellow officer? Seriously?

STFU you wannabe/never gonnabe. Just bitter because they tossed your underperforming arse at twenty. Twice non-select mother fricker.

They really only needed to be prepared for one scenario

We are not even arguing. This is the warm up before it really gets entertaining

This is just one bitter, mouthy frick that could not get his concept plan approved at FORSCOM when he was riding a desk and now he wants to run his mouth at people who actually accomplished things.

Sounds like I was shitting on Leadership when I used the word "they". I stated the NG wanted skin in the game, did not call out individual soldiers. At the time the NG thought it would be left behind because of the Sr Officers didn't have a combat patch. They were not expecting this to last 20 years.

You judge that comment against this post.

Training is not what just happened...unless you want to count the Taliban's excellent push to take a country in a weekend...

This is intelligence, plans and leadership. Of which they had, we did not...almost as if there was a deal, we believed them, they reneged...AND they were fed everything from the inside.

They knew there'd be no resistance on a full scale takeover. Why and how...not even faux posturing from the "ALLIES"...Carter blanche

^^^^I'll leave the last autocorrect...seems apropos

Here is a dickhead Medical Officer telling the world how Combat Arms works. I mentioned FORSCOM only because I had a front row seat, otherwise I would be like you clueless to what was going on.

Maybe not... but you CAN not handcuff your own fricking troops with rules of engagement that don't allow a single bullet to be fired without a months long investigation and a year of paperwork.

Qualified in 8 Military Aircraft, 3000 hours of flight time and a flight instructor and MTP in 3 aircraft. I enjoyed a desk every now and then.

I am busting his balls. Several of my 67J buddies and warrants were test pilots. It is definitely risky from a rotary wing view point. Not sure what the equivalent is for USAF.

He has unleashed Hell so I am going to have fun from this point forward.
