Not just individual Americans. Our economy is supported by big spending by the feds. As long as a politician can alter the course of the economy by just pouring money into it, we will never have a true idea of where we are. Look at the market yesterday, no stimulus......oh shite. It is about the biggest driver we have.

What do you disagree with that Trump has done?

What has he actually done?

He’s gotten a bunch of young judges appointed to the federal bench. That will help someone conservative causes over time, but I suspect the effect will diminish more rapidly than people think.

He had created a fair number of new manufacturing jobs in the US. Not sure where that stands now.

He spent a buttload of money we don’t have. And he cut my taxes by a good amount. I guess if I invest the savings I can offset the coming inflationary pressures driven by debt.

He got Keystone and Dakota approved, which is good for some segments of the energy industry, though not the Gulf Coast or west Texas. But he propped up coal, which competes with natural gas. That hurts the more southern segments of oil and gas. He did hold anti-frackers at bay. Mixed bag.

I recall that I credited him bigly with a move he made on drug costs. Can’t recall details at the moment, but it was significant.

He’d taken some good steps on opioids before Covid hit.

I think he failed on trade deficit. I haven’t done the deep dive yet, but raw numbers suggest that he lost the China trade war. Again, I need to look at that more closely. His renegotiation with Mexico and Canada may help. We will see.

His problem is chaos. He does some things that turn out right. If he’d take some Adderal, he could do a lot more.

I always thought that maybe his chaos had a point, a method in his madness. I don’t see it.

So when you accuse me of being progressive liberal Antifa filth who is sky screaming, read what I just wrote and tell me it’s not a little objective.

Not Iran by any means.

That’s luck of the draw. The president doesn’t make them retire or die, and he has control of the Senate for confirmation. That doesn’t move the accomplishment needle much.

Definitely an achievement. I should not have left that one out. You are right.

Improvement in VA services

From what I gather, there is merit to this.

Has he been unfairly criticized in some areas? Sure. Does he bring some part of that on himself? Hell to the yes.

Fox News is certainly less aligned with the average PoliBoard poster than it used to be. I think that is true.

But it ain’t exactly what you call liberal or even moderate.

This is where I dont get folks like you.....you admit to a damn fine record as President. Policies and actions that have helped every American. Yet you dont like him.

Because you dont like him, you sit by and watch people call him a racist and a xenophobe, homophobe....etc...all the while doing more for those populations then any President.

I’m saying he has done some things right, some mixed, some wrong. Despite what some here think, I’m not reflexively against Trump, and I goddamn sure love America.

My judgment is that overall, Trump has done more harm than good. I see that gap increasing in a second term.

I don’t sit by and watch anything. I criticize both sides. It’s not because I am necessarily the unicorn moderate that this Board loves to dismiss. It is because if you can’t look at something critically from all sides, you don’t understand it.

And you identify a core leadership problem with Trump. Even when he does good things, he says dumbass things about them that cloud his record.

He could be a very good president (although not on the fiscal front). He loves the chaos and the attention seeking too much. It’s a very strange combination.

i just watched the debate. it was surreal. i could not believe the blatant lies harris was saying yet, i can believe it. it's all they have.

quote:

What has he actually done?
how much time do you have?

quote:

He had created a fair number of new manufacturing jobs in the US. Not sure where that stands now.
where that stands now is that he's spearheaded one of the greatest economies in the history of the world. obama's crap economic policies were keeping the country from flourishing. trump removed those restrictions and the economy took off. the virus hit and now the economy is making a solid recovery. you didn't mention repatriation. you didn't mention him fighting for manufacturing plants to not be closed which did meet with some success. way to sell it short.

quote:

He spent a buttload of money we don’t have.
spending is mostly on congress, not the prez. but you knew that didn't you

quote:

He got Keystone and Dakota approved, which is good for some segments of the energy industry, though not the Gulf Coast or west Texas. But he propped up coal, which competes with natural gas. That hurts the more southern segments of oil and gas. He did hold anti-frackers at bay. Mixed bag.
you must have missed the news that competition is good for the consumer and the economy as a whole. there is PLENTY of consumption and resources to go around.

quote:

I think he failed on trade deficit.
he is punishing them for ip theft which no prez before has had the guts to do. total, complete win.

quote:

I haven’t done the deep dive yet, but raw numbers suggest that he lost the China trade war.
yeah you need to run the "numbers" again. china is suffering significantly for being recalcitrant. their loss.

quote:

His problem is chaos. He does some things that turn out right. If he’d take some Adderal, he could do a lot more.
made up, nonsense gibberish. this is not political analysis. it's tds

quote:

Trump has done more harm than good
you blamed him for congress' problems. you grossly misread the china situation. you completely undersold the economic situation and apparently don't understand the energy sector. his list of accomplishments rivals any prez, in one term no less!

quote:

he says dumbass things about them that cloud his record
ok karen. check out the kale special on row 7

quote:

although not on the fiscal front
that's his top achievement

quote:

He loves the chaos and the attention seeking
more tds bullcrap
