Things were civil by the right in 2010.
They got called racists, terrorists, etc, and got harassed by the government.
What we see now is the reaction to that response, as the former Tea Party is no longer playing nice.

It doesn't help your case that rational people see Democrats lying about everything, ever, in order to advance their agenda. You want to talk about "weaponizing" scandals? How about creating "scandal" and controversy out of thin air, and then weaponizing it? That's what the Left has been doing since the 60s at least.
