This could be a no lose situation.
Deal with DACA and get wall built as well.
Dems pass DACA reform but refuse to support wall, Trump has them on the record as being liars.

He hinted that he might be willing to deal but not until the wall is a go. Good for him.

They're playing word games. The Wall is going to be replaced with drones and extra agents. That group was very clear that the wall and "border security" are the same thing. The deal he gets back and will probably sign is going to be horrible. Probably just amnesty with promises of a wall.

I don't know why people aren't understanding what's happening. The group working on immigration are either Democrats or open border Republicans (Graham, Flake). If you think that the wall is going to be built as a result of this deal, you're crazy. Maybe Trump vetoes the bill but there's no way Congress is building a wall.

I don't think he made anything clear. Sounds like he may actually give amnesty to the 11 million lawbreakers that have invaded our country. Which means by extension these scumbag's families would also he allowed to join them. If he pulls this shows@! He needs to get out after one term. It's starting to look really bad.

A case could be made that a large and coordinated patrolling force, the length of a wall, or a fence, could be even more effective than a massive wall with no or sporadic presence of border agents. An immediate aid, could be a rapid increase of law enforcement, border agents, citizen patrols etc,

Less effective because a new administration can stop funding or enforcing it which puts things exactly back where they were

100% Really. Republicans have 51 votes in the Senate. Most of those are paid to be in favor of open borders. All Democrats are in favor of open borders. If you buy into the border security farce that Graham and Flake are selling, that's on you. If Trump wants to build a wall, he'll have to do it with $ from the Defense budget as an act of National Security.

Except that in September, Trump made a deal with Schumer and Pelosi on a DACA deal with increased border security but no funding for a wall. So Trump is essentially going back on his promise.
But don't let facts get in the way of the Dem condemnation circle-jerk you have going on here.

Trump said he'd deal with DACA for border security and the discussions for the wall will come later. Now he's backing out on that promise to have a DACA vote unless the wall is included.
