So funny story for you guys relative to the OP
I grew up in Egypt as a kid. Periodically, probably once a month, we’d be woken up by gunfire and it wasn’t just one shot but multiple.
Come to find out, the military would post up in all the neighborhoods and shoot dead every stray dog they saw. We never knew if it was to thin out the stray population or they had bloodlust of some sort.

What’s wild is I did not know until recently that everything that was written about Muhammad came along some 200 years after his passing.
And THE most detailed biographies of his life are less than 200 years old written by a German
So in other words, everything we know about Muhammad is mostly hearsay
Yet the Muslims believe Quran is the holy word from God and the Bible is flawed because it was written by men
I kid you not.

They permit working dogs. Just not as pets.
