Oklahoma Bill 631 (plus history discussion)

I was going to make a giant post, but just decided to be fast here. This is interesting because history that I was taught in school was that the civil war was fought over states rights.. Not slavery. Yes Slavery was an Issue and a huge one, but it boiled down to states rights. Today it is being taught that it was all about slavery.
fewer than 5% of southern people owned slaves.
Some people say that Johnny Reb was a rebel that tried to over throw the government. I say that he just wanted to defend his home state... Because that was all that he knew.
Now we have this.
bill-that-makes-oklahoma-a-second-amendment-sanctuary-state-heads-to-senate/
This is interesting and I will explain. I have a police friend that says he will not confiscate guns from law abiding citizens.
I expect that Oklahoma will pass this bill in the Senate..
so lets go further and say that Biden passes legislation that ar15's, high capacity magazines are illegal. For the sake of argument and discussion lets say that Biden is going to send in troops to take guns from Okies.
This now makes it very interesting.. What does someone from Oklahoma do? No one wants Civil war. But I can see that people of Oklahoma not wanting to be governed by the same people that are governing Baltimore, Detroit and other run down highly crime filled cities.
This is why I brought up Johnny Reb in the First civil war. I can see the people of Oklahoma believe in "States Rights". That the state has the right to be governed by themselves.
SO this thread is two fold... One the Gun Legislation of Oklahoma.
But also that in the American Civil war your average Confederate soldier was fighting for no other reason than his home state and not for the defense of slavery.
And geaux Oklahoma.

The bill would prevent any future legislation by the federal government from infringing on the Second Amendment rights of Oklahomans.
“SB 631 states that the gun laws as they exist today are as restrictive as they’re ever going to be, and that they cannot be added to,” Hamilton said. “No governmental agency has the Constitutional authority to restrict magazines, ammunition, modern sporting rifles or AR pistols. This bill is simply a red line that clearly defines the limits of governmental authority regarding our unalienable, God-given, blood-bought, constitutionally guaranteed right to keep and bear arms.”

The bill would preempt any future legislation, rules or ordinances by the federal government, state agency or political subdivision in Oklahoma from infringing on citizens’ Second Amendment rights, officials said.

The left has corrupted everything it has touched.

The do-gooders and panzies on here will tell you Federal Law supercedes any State Legislation, but with Oklahoma already disavowing Biden's Executive Orders, this just adds another brick to the wall separating Red States from the Union.

Thats kind of where I was going with this. It really puts the people of OK in a spot here.. They don;t want to be called rebels, but I don;t think that thay want to be ruled by Biden taking their guns either... Same with Texas.

Add this to the list of absurdities created with the demise of the rule of law. The law must be, above all, certain. Historically SCOTUS would settle questions like this, but they have taken a "we only do TV stuff" view of jurisprudence, so your're right, Okies are in a spot. Oklahoma passed medical marijuana and everybody just sort of looks at each other like "is this cool? We good?" It's 100% against federal law, yet here we are with a "dispensary" around every corner. The only thing I've seen so far on that front is that these folks have dove into the business, amassing debt and obligations they can't fulfil. "It's ok, I'll file bankruptcy!" Uh, nope. That's federal law. You can't break it and seek its protection at the same time. They don't tell them that part.
