BREAKING: IRIB reports that the Saudi-owned VLCC oil tanker SIDR was disabled while attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz through Omani waters.
The incident coincides with circulating reports of missile launches from Sirik, southern Iran. The tanker reportedly switched its AIS back on in the “Omani Corridor” before rapidly losing speed and coming to a complete stop.

UKMTO WARNING 124-26
Incident Date: 31 Aug 26 Incident Time: 2000UTC
UKMTO has received a report of an incident 17NM east of Khasab, Oman.
A tanker has reported being struck by 3 unknown projectiles whilst completing an outbound transit of the Strait of Hormuz.
No casualties or environmental impact has been reported.
Authorities are investigating.
Vessels are advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity to UKMTO.
