UAE building another pipeline is very significant and latest reports says it is 50% complete. Any decrease in the percentage of oil coming out of the SOH decreases the significance of the SOH, decreasing Iran's power.

A lot of the UAE's pipeline infrastructure traverses a large mountain range which makes targeting it by the IRGC difficult. Anything not going through that mountain range I assume will be hardened against at least drone attacks.

Looks like the USN is now escorting ships that take the alternate route near Oman. Despite the X posts claims, other ships are still taking the Iranian traffic route as well.

How do you “harden against at least drone attacks”?
It’s a serious question, I have no idea.
Miles of pipeline, all you have to do is send a drone swarm and get one direct hit, the pipeline is closed.
Iran just hit an area in Iraq with drones, seems pretty clear that no one has been able to stop them. And that’s not including ballistic missile launches.

Additionally, both sides are not slinging crap at each other because of the holiday and the funeral of the ayatollah. I expect resumption of the normal routine of attacking shipping and us responding by bombing something on the coast to resume once this weekend passes.

It's a good question. Other than a competent and layered air defense system, the only real way to harden the infrastructure would be to build what amounts to cope cages along the pipeline that covers the exposed pipeline.
Saudi Arabia started building cages around their utility infrastructure to help protect against drone attacks. I assume UAE would do something similar with potentially vulnerable stretches of pipeline.
The most likely approach would be layered with air defense, monitoring and infrastructure protection via things like cages, building below the surface, etc.

I think their concerns are valid. However, maybe if the Gulf States had not been in bed with Iran for all these years through backdoor financing and sales of sanctioned military hardware, Iran wouldn't be such a threat to become a monster in the region. The UAE was targeted by drone technology they provided to the IRGC before the war. The Gulf States bear some of the blame on the Islamic Republic of Iran's ability to rise into a regional bully.

They have trillions of dollars in oil wealth but don't want to spend a dime or lift a finger to build real, viable defensive capabilities or competent miltary forces. They don't mind however, having the infidels they actually hate, defend their vast wealth while they quietly plot to stab us in the back over the next few decades.
