BREAKING: Iran’s Assembly of Experts has issued a statement in support of the Supreme Leader, Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei
quote:
7. Everyone, especially the esteemed government officials, knows that in the system of Wilayat Al-Faqih (Guardianship of the Jurist), the opinion and perspective of the Leader is the final word, and when informed of his definitive opinion, no official can or should act contrary to his opinion.
quote:
9. We ask the dear nation to continue their steadfast presence on the streets, and while preserving sacred unity and avoiding any action that disrupts this unity, they should not pay attention to the divisive words of some ignorant people who seek to limit this divine mission. The presence of the people is essential and decisive as long as the Supreme Leader deems it necessary.
As long as there are zealots in Iran, who believe this crap and hold any power, this will never end.

Sounded like Shiites arresting Sunnis.
It may be Shiites consolidating power.

Iran can afford to wait this out. Trump and the American people need a deal. And in the end it’ll be us thar suffer the longer this goes on.
You have that backwards. Ships are moving through the strait. Their neighbors aren't being attacked every single day with missiles. Their country is falling apart. The infighting is increasing.
And for us. The stock market is at record highs. Gas prices are going down. We are depleting our arsenal anymore.

Iran has been eliminated out of the World Cup. They did not make the final 32.

More explosions in Kuwait in the last few minutes. It is believed to be from drones that Iran fired earlier that are just getting to their targets/intercepted:

UPDATE | Let’s clarify what appears to have happened in Iraq.
According to emerging Iraqi reporting, the overnight security operation in Baghdad was linked to a judicial anti-corruption campaign rather than a military coup or an immediate crackdown connected to Iran.
The operation fits into a broader campaign launched by Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi’s government, which has ordered reviews of previous state contracts and already led to the arrest of senior officials.
In one major case, Iraqi authorities reported the seizure of around $86 million in cash, 70 properties, 21 vehicles and nearly three kilograms of gold. The government also cancelled a $764 million Baghdad airport project over suspected corruption.
We should still be extremely cautious with the names of those allegedly detained. Several lists circulating online remain unverified and appear to mix confirmed judicial cases with rumours.
One important correction: it was Haibet al-Halbousi, Iraq’s current parliament speaker and Mohammed al-Halbousi’s brother who was in Cairo on June 27 making public appearances.
That rules out claims that Haibet was being held in Baghdad. It does not, however, independently confirm Mohammed al-Halbousi’s whereabouts or arrest.
