Smart fricking mayor, Rich people don't pay that tax. They buy and sell property. People buying up their new York real estate are fixing to eat.

Lol. Yeah, winters can be challenging. Spring, summer and fall up there are gorgeous, though. The problem is winter can be anywhere from three to eight months.

My family used to live on the side hills of Keuka lake (mom still does) where all the wineries are. Not far from Heron Hill. It’s a beautiful place. I go back there for Thanksgiving and Xmas. It’s a great breather from the fast paced area I am now, so I still love going there from time to time.

My relatives still have a farmstead on a hill overlooking Skaneateles Lake.

I understand. Could be the cold weather. I always hear those stereotypes about people in the north- the brutal winters drive a lot to alcoholism.
For the record, after more than 30 years in Florida and my entire life in the south, I am thinking about moving to a cold weather area for retirement. I've gotten to the point where I can't stand crowds, and FL is getting too crowded.

Don't do it, the cold only gets harder as you get older. Move somewhere less crowded or split time between climates. There's no way in hell I'd be 60 putting on a Canada Goose to go snow shovel the driveway.
