So your theory of melting ice on land and flowing into the Ocean is what will make the water level rise?
Funny all that snow and rain that falls on the ground and flows into the Gulf of Mexico thru the MS river every year for as long as I can remember and the dang thing hasn't made me a beach front property owner yet and I don't live but a short distance from the Gulf?

Interesting link. Again Climate change is real but is it natural or man made. We have destroyed the entire coal industry purely from the idea that it is a top contributor of climate change. I think that is the issue most people have and why they fight it. Everything I read, that I would consider middle ground research, never points at man as the cause. Yes they all say it is changing but no blame. The hoax people all go after the man-made component of climate change which is legit.
I cant get pass that the method for measuring CO2 has changed. what if the method is so much more precise today that the scientist are capturing spikes that were also there 200,000 years ago but not captured. Its like turning the gain up. What if ice core samples filter out spikes?

Water flows to the lowest point you're not going to have permanent flooding just in the gulf from rain.

The ice we are losing isn't floating. If the entire earth was Antarctica then yeah you'd have a point, but we're losing ice that's sitting on land much more often around the world. There are theories on why Antarctica is gaining ice, but once again if they're out to fudge data, why are they the ones reporting the ice gaining in Antarctica. No one will answer me that. And it's a very valid question. If you're going to use NOAA's data to prove Antarctica is gaining ice, then use it to show the rest of the polar caps are losing land ice at a much higher rate. When ice that's not floating melts, that water is added to the sea level. Not only that but when that freezing water thaws and heats it also expands. Please ask a professional and not the TD poliboard about science issues.

So you think all the ice on earth goes through a cyclical conversion like that?

But you were saying that ice melting in Greenland is going to raise the sea level?
Does the rain and melting snow in Greenland raise the sea level or just the melting glaciers?

The ice melting in Greenland is ON LAND hold a cube of ice above a glass of water and let it melt, the water that goes into the glass will raise the water level. This is 2nd grade stuff here. It's not icebergs floating around melting that is the issue.

Roger, you must have missed the History Channel special dooming our planet due to hydrocarbon CO2 emissions. Some of the best pictorials and depictions showing weight of CO2 released using mountain size as a legend.
We only have about 25 years left in this production. Absolutely zero challenge to anything presented in the program. Very high on Paris accord as well.
...can't remember the name of the series??

Do these same second graders believe that the sea is rising every time it rains in Greenland?
If I put a cup out in the rain it also fills up and overflows but does that also mean the sea level is rising?

Same reason there is an ancient forest sitting in 80 feet of water off the Alabama coast. Sea levels rose drastically after the last ice age. Since it has been a relatively short period of time since the last ice age who is to say we aren't still warming out of it? Modern man takes has been here such a short time it is laughable that we can claim to know what the temperature and sea levels should be.

If you put a boat in a cup of water the water level also rises.
Maybe to combat the melting ice we should remove all the boats out of the water? Or at least enough to offset the problem?

right, so this where I guess the convo ends. Way to not be disengenuous.
The same guy who thinks when it rains in the gulf he should have a beach house. Keep up the good critical thinking.

What climate change is saying is that at the current rate at which the earths CLIMATE and water temperatures are rising, there will be a serious problem in the future. We know on small scales that greenhouses are a real thing. Farmers don't have greenhouses so they can look through the glass, they serve a purpose on the inside. We also know that the ice caps are melting faster than they have before, in the same period of time that humans have put more CO2 in the atmosphere than there has been in 100,000 years. So if you want to say it's politicized as a hoax, then it's just as easy to say it's politicized by people simply not wanting to look at the evidence. I don't think I'm going to change anyone's view, but at least have the decency and self worth to ask someone not on this message board. For the love of god go study this somewhere where you can ask an expert your questions.

Yeah I guess the convo is over,
I'm pretty sure we proved that your theory of melting ice translates to rising sea levels if inaccurate a best but it scares second graders.
The truth is the sea level is complicated and to pretend we know all the reasons it rises and falls is almost as laughable as believing we can control it.

Sure. That's why NASA and NOAA predicted in 1990 that we would be drowning by 2000. And why they predicted in 2000 that we'd be drowing in 2010. And why they predicted in 2010 that we'll be drowning by 2020.
All of their predictions are wrong because they are manipulating data to suit a GW conclusion. It's all about money and grants for them. For the UN it's all about money shifts from developed nations to the 3rd world.
The earth has warmed 1 degree over the last 150 years. That's within normal fluctuations. It's a scam.

And who is giving you this information? Is it the people who you say is full of shite? Why do you believe this and not the other data?
Show me where NOAA predicted everything would be underwater by 2010

I studied the GW papers and indicts and counter indicts for 10 years long before I came here. La. Tech is only an hour away and they have a govt doc depository in the basement that became my second home.
BTW, I don't mean to oversimplify that the motivation for the scam is all about money. There is a large percentage of Marxists who see it as vehicle to attack capitalism. There is also a branch of non Marxist de-devolopers (think Ted Kacinsky) who just hate industry.

Not only that, they predicted there would be no ski resorts open due to snow melt.
I'll never forget sitting in the LSU Barber Shop next to an SJW in the early 2000s when one of the Dem congress reps came on TV and said this. I laughed hard. The SJW turned to me and said "you must not care about the planet".
I replied: "I care about the planet, but any time Al Gore and his ilk proclaim they are scientists, you should probably ask yourself what their motivations are".
That afternoon, I went back to my office, got online, and read up on Carbon Credits and who ran those companies.
I knew then it was a scam. Fast forward a few years later and the ONLY solutions to these "problems" are wealth distribution. Not to mention we can't call it Global Warming. It is Climate Change. Who can deny that? LOL. Nobody. In fact, where I am today, the climate will change over 40 degrees cooler later tonight when a cold front comes in. Yup. Climate Change.
Fast forward to now where a bunch of Progs who tell me that I'm denying science if I don't believe in "Climate Change" while they simultaneously convince me abortion isn't killing a human being and that a person with a penis is really a woman.
Yup, Welcome to America in 2016.
