If it helps with you thought process, fully half of the military would open fire on you if ordered to do so by a politician because that politician deemed you to be a 'terrorist' or an 'enemy'.
That isn't mere conjecture. There have been multiple polls about this and yeah, it's about half of the uniformed force.

Support functions to shooters ratio is typically 80/20. I suspect the number of combat arms folks who will do that is pretty low; way, way under 50%, but that still leaves 80% of the military. When you consider that some of the support folks are also patriots and that some couldn't tell you which end of the barrel the round comes out of, 50% is probably pretty accurate. And that number will grow, by design.
