There should be an exception for Chiefs and Senior officers in the Navy. A good nautical beard or mustache should be a privilege for years of sea duty. Until the Cold War (and its craze for clean faces and crew cuts for all men), facial hair was a Naval tradition. It should stay that way.

You can get a “no shave” chit if you have a legitimate medical reason not to shave. It’s been that way for years. This privilege has been greatly abused. I wonder if he’s going to 86 hair weaves.
