“Listen, I’m no different than any other family,” Murphy commented during a Monday briefing on Monday, Fox News reported. “After this past 17 months, just having a few days together is something that I think all of us want to do with our family, and I’m looking forward to that.”

The governor reportedly departed last Tuesday to visit his 23-room multi-million dollar villa in Umbria and will return to New Jersey next Thursday.

Meanwhile, New Jersey reported an additional 1,263 confirmed coronavirus cases and three additional confirmed deaths Sunday as the number of individuals hospitalized continued at the highest level since the middle of May, according to NJ.com:

You’ve Lost Your Minds!’ Gov. Phil Murphy Goes Full Jersey on Anti-Vax Hecklers, Calls Them ‘Ultimate Knuckleheads’ Michael Luciano 8/4/2021

quote:

At the beginning of his speech, Murphy urged people to get the Covid-19 vaccine, only to be interrupted by anti-vaccine hecklers. “Please get vaccinated,” he persisted. “Period.” “These folks back there have lost their mi–you’ve lost your minds! You are the ultimate knuckleheads and because of what you are saying and standing for, people are losing their life. People are losing their life, and you have to know that. Look in the mirror. Look in the mirror!”

Most shocking thing is that the Gov. of New Jersey has a 23-room multi-million dollar villa in Umbria. Must be nice.....

Does he own the villa, or is it a rental?

If so, how can a Gov from a shithole state like NJ afford to own a multi-million dollar villa in Italy?

Assuming it’s a rental he probably got a really good deal on, wink wink and all that.

What’s so shocking about a corrupt politician having a massive house? Very commonplace actually

He owns it. He also owns a home in Berlin Germany. He worked for Goldman Sachs for 20 years and was also ambassador to Germany. He's an a$$hole. He should stay in Italy.

So it's ok for him to go to Italy while his state is falling apart but not for Cruz to go to Mexico...got it.

On the contrary, I'd argue it's not shocking at all.

He invested his several hundred dollars even more "wisely" than Hillary Clinton.

The difference is that Murphy will be staying at his multi-million dollar palatial estate in Italy. The property includes three houses, horse stables, tennis court and pool. It is valued at over $7.3 million. Read More: Gov. he bought it for 7 million in 2004. I'm sure it's worth a lot more now.

He also takes his NJ governor salary, unlike President Trump who donated his. Murphy has mega bucks from his Goldman Sachs days, does he really need the $175,000? He also has a multi-million dollar waterfront estate in NJ. That gov salary probably doesn't even cover the $210,000 PROPERTY TAX on his NJ estate, but it helps.
