It has been said that Seth was to start working in the HRC campaign days after his death.
I think HRC knew he was a Bernie supporter very upset with evidence. So offered him a job to ease all -and saw it may make it worse.

Good, there is at least as much evidence that he was the leaker (and thus a target) as any of the Russians collusion bullshite.
