New gun control laws will be tested all the up to the Supreme Court

Whatever new gun control laws are passed will probably be immediately challenged in the courts.
As the court is now 5-4 conservative (in most cases) I would be willing to bet that a hard look would be taken by the Supreme Court at any constitutional 2nd amendment violations.
If background checks get too invasive, then these new laws would probably be shot down.
The smart thing to do is to pass whatever law that makes the most sense so this issue is pacified for the election cycle. Then rely on the courts to be the final say at the constitutionality of the law.

You have way too much faith in John Roberts. Could definitely see him making some twisted contorted "legal" reasoning to uphold whatever gun grabbing law is passed.

Post Heller, four Federal Appellate Courts have upheld bans on AR15 type weapons. SCOTUS has declined review.

The best way to ensure our 2nd amendment rights are not infringed upon is to not pass a damn thing. When will people learn to not give gvt or a liberal a damn inch because they’ll take a mile.
Millions of illegals cross our border and many of them murder our citizens yet the left makes sanctuary cities for them. You don’t see gvt cracking down on the millions of “good” illegals when it’s obvious there are far more bad ones breaking laws than we have mass shootings. frick gvt and frick liberals for their hypocrisy.
