I’m not ignoring anything. If our ships and missiles could keep the strait open from way out in the Arabian Sea then the shipping lane would be open right now.

Part of what keeps the dollar viable as the global currency is our Navy and ability to protect international commerce. Its important that we protect it. Being flagrant and careless with warships has never been smart for the whole history of mankind, but warships are built for war. We should use them, intelligently, to protect international commerce.
