I think you're right. As long as the reason for impeachment is legit criminal activity. What would the supposed opposition gain by getting Trump thrown out of office? And what would conservatives lose?
Im not fan of Mike Pence but the man would pursue the same agenda as Trump without all the bullshite and probably get more accomplished than Trump will.
I'm talking about impeachment here not some crazy coup which I dont see how that would be possible without some kind of serious breakdown of social order.

But I have to be honest. I disagree with Pence almost completely and would greatly prefer him to Trump.
The office of the presidency would return to being respected again because at least Pence acts like and adult.
