Basically everyone in this thread said they couldn't. Even a woman.
Now, I notice you are the only one knighting for it to happen.
Exactly, who is the one worried here?

Then you shouldn't be concerned about it.
The concern comes from all the schools that were already watered down after the introduction of females and the fact that lower physical standards for females already exist. This isn't theoretical. We've already seen the effects of gender integration on other historically challenging courses, like Airborne School, for example. Why will this be different?

You say that like it's an important point. It's not. I haven't seen anyone here that has completed this training, and I wouldn't believe anyone that claimed they have.
Your opinions on whether a woman could complete it are meaningless.

You are. Most of the rest are as well. I don't care if she fails. Many of you care if she makes it.
You care to the point that you've spent several pages and threads bitching about it.

This is stupid and a minimum will be poor for morale.
I don't think women should be patrol cops, either. I know if I was a cop, I would not want my partner to be female. It's simple biology. Here's a graph of male vs female grip strength. The absolute strongest 10% of women are still way below the average male in grip strength.

Which schools?

Airborne School
Airborne School wasn't difficult to begin with.

I don't really call it bitching. Just pointing out the physical limitations of a woman compared to a man.
But you see; I'm not living in a fantasy world that says there isn't a physical difference like you.

I'll call it bitching.

I didn't say there wasn't a physical difference. There are physical differences among men as well. Let her attempt it. If she's not physically capable, problem solved.

There is a physical difference between you and I, genius.

We can bring it to Sonic if you want, tuffy.

I don't know what that means, but I'm not worried about Internet fights.
Think about what was said tonight.
Have a good night.

It was more difficult than it is now prior to the late 70's/early 80's.

The only thing people are worried about is lowered standards for women, producing a weaker unit, or a woman who fails and then brings stink to the service because she goes crying to the ignorant media.

So it's just as simple as letting her show up? No need to install facilities, import cadre and medical personnel, create an entire pipeline for that 1 in 500 that can make it? Just show up and try out like it's the company softball team?
Forget the other arguments for a second. You want to install an entire infrastructure and allocate valuable recruiting manpower so that an extreme majority of female applicants can wash out? Because if you don't lower the standards that's what we'll be spending money on. 99 washouts to get one qualified operator. All so you guys can pat yourselves on the back over how progressive you are.

Yeah some are fat as frick. Fatties don't get different standards than the in shape guys. Why do women get different standards than men?

No shite and eventually it will get them the boot. Or at least it's supposed to. Not sure what her point was there.

There's no room at the tip of the spear for lowered standards. The military shouldn't be a test tube for the PC idiots.
That said, IF a woman can do everything the men are doing at the same standard then let her go for it.

I don't care if she makes it. I care about the potential that it waters down the training like it has in almost every other instance.
Things they do to people at BUDS no one cares about, until it's a woman. That woman could easily go on an interview claiming to be singled out and ridiculed (a main point of BUDS). People that have nothing to do with it then get up in arms for calling for better treatment, which defeats the entire purpose.
I don't want instructors worrying about what they say or how they say it, or how hard they can go after people. They are trying to weed out the weak candidates among people they will have to trust with their lives in small teams without conventional support.
I've seen guys choke slammed and called a pussy and told to run home to momma. No that's not acceptable in ever day life, but this is not every day life. The national perception of a woman telling these stories about mean old men is much different than if a guy tells it.
I'm scared to death of a culture change in one of the most successful operational military cultures we have.
Maybe this is a girl that appreciates what this is all about and won't have any sour grapes if she doesn't make it, but will they all? Maybe she would be a fine operator. The more they let in the more likely complaints are filed that the media will latch onto and the BUDS culture will turn feminine and away from the cut throat school that it is IMO.
Instructors will absolutely be briefed on what is no longer acceptable around female candidates.
