It wasn't that long ago that China was an emerging economy. Their economy is dependent on exports, heavily dependent. The single largest consumer of Chinese exports is the US and the #2 spot is nowhere even close. On top of that, the statistic doesn't even account for their exports to Hong Kong (#2) and Vietnam (#3) who are often just proxies for China.

Their economic life, at least right now, is inextricably linked to that of the US. Their continued existence at their current level (or stronger) is going to depend on diversifying away from the US somehow if they really do feel the US will fall.

But they aren't wrong about the US. Multiculturalism, at least the way the Left views it (which is what's run the western philosophy towards it), is a short-sighted view with the implication that mixing cultures mix equally. They don't. The more dominant culture will subsume the less dominant one.

Once upon a time, Americanism (or "Americana") was the dominant culture. It spread worldwide with music, entertainment, food and philosophy. Then, starting around the 70s but not really picking up steam until the mid-late 90s, the push began to frame American culture as being uniquely imperialistic, racist, etc. While we were busy punishing ourselves for these promoted transgressions, part of the atonement we have been told is that we should import other cultures (with the implication that they are superior by dint of simply not being American). Easy evidence of this can be seen in the sponsorship, encouragement and allowance of mass illegal immigration with no emphasis on their assimilation into America (to the contrary, that "diversity" becomes the rallying point for why they should be here).

As long as we continue to support media and politics which push a noose onto Americanism, we will continue to weaken through fractionalization. Eventually a point will be reached where another culture takes over. Think that's crazy? Rashida Tlaib has now been censured once by Congress (2023) for remarks which distinctly promote Muslim culture's attempt to replace Jews in Israel (repeating the "from the river to the sea" refrain which is common from those seeking to literally wipe Israel and Judaism out of existence). Apparently, that wasn't warning enough as the currently proposed censure filed against her was based on her statements at a recent pro-Palestine conference where she stated:

Meaning she has a greater allegiance to radical Islam (which ruled Gaza) than to the US and that she sees her membership as part of a trend of radical Islam pushing out American culture.
