Maybe the Thomas hearing had a slight edge in nastiness but the Bork hearing was a turning point due to the fact that nominees of both parties just quit giving substantive answers to committee questions.

Replacing Thurgood Marshall with a young black conservative was something that the Democrats were not going to allow under and they did whatever they could to try to stop it.
Do you think the fact that he was not qualified to be a Supreme Court Justice had anything to do with it?

None.
Purely ideological.

Her name was Regina Hill, if I recall correctly. She was an attractive black woman who lied has arse off. She accused him of sexual harassment. There was something about a pubic hair.
Anyway, she was rewarded with a job at Stanford law school.

which confirmation hearing was the nastiest, most savage, that you ever watched.
I watched as much of the Bork and Thomas hearings as I could = was very busy with long hours during those eras.
This was when the DEMrat party first went off their rails on full display for anyone who would just watch what they were doing.
I firmly believe that these events should be aired out during this opposition of Gorsuch - in the manner of "there you go again"
Refresh the public's mind on just how vicious and unethical the DEMrat party has become - and how they play the same tired accusations against any opposition.
Call them out as the Propaganda Party - link them with the lies and smears they have actively used as their PRIMARY weapon agains all political opponents for the past 50 years.
Ask them how what they are doing today is any different than what they did to Bork and Thomas.
Bring back the memories of those abominations to the public memory - make them wallow in their filth.
