Judge and Smyth already said they’re cooperating.

Guess who wants to not cooperate?

Relax man it wasn’t loading in the hospital I work at. I’ve never heard of the site.

My bad. I assumed you were part of the crowd that thinks if something comes from certain websites it isn't credible.

This ^^^^ or Flake has a bad case of white male guilt syndrome and is trying to convince the media he really is a “good guy” by their standards... which really immasculates himself and exposes him as a fake. Flake the Fake!!!!

I've watched the relevant videos of Flake's grand entrance and the subsequent maneuvers multiple times.

I took a different view from it because it looked staged by the republicans.

Flake comes in with his "conditions" for approving Kavanaugh on the Senate floor. And before you know it-Grassley impersonates a Jedi and has on the record the democrats agreeing to an investigation limited to no more than a week (work week? calendar week?) and limited to the allegations before the committee. The Ford matter only?

Flake I believe carefully phrased the time and scope limitations himself and I believe they were repeated nearly verbatim by Grassley. Only two of the democrats seemed to catch it and only one tried to restate it to expand it beyond the Ford allegation.

Now we seem to be seeing a seamless baton passing from Grassley to Mitch soon followed by the President's call for an additional FBI background check.

It looks like a well executed screen play taking advantage of the democrat's smelling blood in the water if I might mix a few metaphors.

This is the sort of cover that both Republicans and red state Democrats need to defend a vote to confirm. Everyone screamed for a week to let the FBI investigate further-well, you got it.

The risks for this tactic, if it is that, seem obvious. New allegations from new "victims" can be bought. Existing witnesses can be bribed or threatened despite felony charges raised against them if promised anemic prosecution and light sentencing. I suppose given the recent anti-Trump posture and actions of the FBI, one can't rule out some kind of shenanigans on the investigative front. Seems unlikely.

But if the investigation is short and limited to Ford's allegation, Mitch seems to be whipping everyone into position to vote at the earliest time feasible.

Maybe I'm just whistling as I walk past a graveyard.

The GOP would run a bubble screen. On third and long.

Problem is - the other team gets a vote. The FBI tried to interview Ford last night. This will be the delay that gets the Dems - at least - their week.

A week will be more than enough to manufacture additional allegations (with no support, I'm certain Ford's is the "best" one they have) and volume of accusations will substitute for merit and that will be it.

ETA: And Maryland authorities say they will investigate if the victim files a complaint - so that will be the other way out for Flake, Collins, etc. "We can't vote with a nominee under criminal investigation, however spurious."

And that will be it.

Your facts, reasoning, and conclusions seem irresistible and inevitable. It saddens me to admit it.

It's a sad and tragic day for our Republic. What was once a beautiful musical and lyrical tribute and hopeful prayer seems now little more than a mournful dirge to me.
quote:

O beautiful for spacious skies
For amber waves of grain
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America!
America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good
with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for pilgrim feet
Whose stern impassioned stress
A thoroughfare of freedom beat Across the wilderness!
America!
America!
God mend thine every flaw
Confirm thy soul in self-control
Thy liberty in law!

O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife
Who more than self their country loved And mercy more than life!
America!
America!
May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness
And every gain divine!
