It was just the way it was done back then. But a lot of people don't know that the Founders treated their slaves with a lot of respect. Of course, those who haven't visited Washington's, Jefferson's, Monroe's, Madison's, Franklin's homes, do not know this. They treated their slaves very well. People think of the 1800's south and the cruel treatment of slaves. The Founders did not do this.

Yes, this is the point that leftists universally ignore, or just never bothered to learn, because they didn't want to risk exposing their own narrative.

And this was even how many (not all) slaves were treated in the south up until the so-called civil war. "Servants" would have been a better description than slaves, in the revolutionary period.

Yeah I was underwhelmed by their portrayal of the early years, but as they approached the years past 1770 it started to get more heated up and interesting. I will definitely give part two a chance tomorrow night.

Why are blacks the only people with a last name of Washington and Jefferson? I'm 68 years-old and have never heard of a white person with either last name. Strange.

A large portion of the white people that came to this country prior to the Revolutionary War came as indentured servants. Essentially slaves.

Do they even gloss over that he was one of the nation's first land surveyors who did much survey work in the Shenandoah Valley.

Or is that too absent material best suited for adverse social commentary.

You forgot the part where he single handedly destroyed America's cherry tree forests.
