This situation with the migrants in U.S. immigration detention centers in the South separated by their parents who are undocumented immigrants will be a issue in the 2018 midterm elections in places like Missouri, Wisconsin, New Jersey, Florida, etc.

Mark my words....I know that some Trump supporters and Republicans will try to deflect....I am an Independent voter, but this is going to be a problem with Latino and millennial voters. White women, a swing demographic--who voted for Trump in 2016 over fellow woman Hillary Clinton, could swing to the Democrats to potentially give them governorships, House and Senate seats.....

Republicans......beware......don't be overconfident........Democrats could win the House AND the Senate........

Who do you think votes at a higher rate? Latinos, 18-30 yr olds or working class whites aged 40-65?

Have they been paying attention to this issue for years when Trump wasn't President?

First of all, you’re a liar. You’re not an independent.

Democrats can fix their forced family breakup at the Border by working with Republicans on new legislation, for a change! This is why we need more Republicans elected in November. Democrats are good at only three things, High Taxes, High Crime and Obstruction. Sad!

Makes one wonder why this is an issue now when it was going on under a previous administration.

Very curious.

Jesus Christ man. This is just another non-story made up out to get an emotional reaction out of people who don’t want to think critically.

Concern trolling...factor 7.

It's not working. There's enough out there showing that this has been the policy for years and that the "poor kids" caught in this are short timers (and the long termers are because the parents or "guardians" that brought them are pieces of shite) .

But, thanks for proving the point I made this morning that this will be the narrative for the Summer.

Yeah, this issue is going to erase a year of the public realizing the left is insane vengeful anti-American crazy people.

The left base shrunk over the last year...regular Democrats are now Trump Democrats. The left is fringe pyschos...that we see screaming on TV or staging fake rallies and pussy-hats and smashing windows of banks.

Democrats may win the house and governorships, but they have zero chance to win the senate

So couldn’t Trump and the Republicans flip this back on the Democrats by focusing on the fact that Obama and dems never addressed the issue. They had eight years to change this policy and could have cared less.

I too am a swing voter, and I really do believe this will be a huge story coming towards midterms. Trump needs to spin it right, without taking cues from Republicans. They don't know shite. Bush-era GOP would frick this all up. The Trump machine will probably work it beautifully.

It happened under Obama at likely even a faster pace. Talk that up...

Do they not realize that this is all made up for PR? That most “separations” last only a matter of hours? Maybe they should look a little harder than the crap being regurgitated by the media?
