Re: "response to caravan of American Patriots", the point should be that when it was detected, it would be stopped immediately with force. That is the point. It has little to do with whether Travis, Bowie, and Crockett could single-handedly takedown the entire 2019 Mexican military. Mexican authorities are fully capable of stopping any open group of travelers.
They are certainly capable of stopping transit of 30K collected Central American migrants over a two-week period through their country. They simply are not motivated to do it.
A lot of money is changing hands during the caravan treks. Cartels are getting bribes, local popo are getting kickbacks, coyote handers look to make a small fortune. Kids are dragged along and die because of US Democrat law encouraging it.
Every bit of the problem is addressable without a wall. None of it has been or will be addressed without a wall. So we'll have a wall.
