this video is making all the rounds... colleges, corporate America, schools, etc... its indoctrination and its sick. Oh and BTW, she's married to George Lucas. Yep, that george Lucas.

I think the video is horse shite. Her mom teaches her early on that she will always be slighted because of her race. Great job there mom... easy to propagate some racism. Her whole idea is that we should see race and not be blind to it, promote based on race, govern based on race, eyc.. This seems to go against the whole idea of judging people by their character and, when at work, their character and their quality of work output.

That person that she's talking about that's her "friend"-Harold Ford is also a raging racist. He used to be a regular on Morning Joe.

He was also later fired by Morgan Stanley for sexual misconduct.

If that’s the case then at some psychological level it’s admitting that blacks envy whites since it assumes that being whites will always be better than being black.

So no matter if you got 100 mill in the bank, status, power...just because you’re black, you will always be “slighted”. That’s a nice attitude to walk through life and imagine passing that message to your kid.

Screw you, MLK!

I'm beginning to feel as out of place as actual white racists must have felt shortly after Jim Crow ended and black were to be treated equally. Except for me, it's the opposite.

Started school in 1975 in a school that had black and white kids and had no idea about the Civil Rights movement until years later studying it. It was just normal. We were taught everyone was to be treated equal, to BE colorblind. I'd guess the vast majority of Gen X and under has lived their lives precisely that way.

Now I'm told to stop that, and go back to seeing people first and most importantly by their race.

Makes total sense...

This certainly captures my experience. I will add that a number of my friends--quite multicultural if that matters--have commented over the years that our children were terribly confused when they were taught about racial differences, at quite young ages, in their various schools. It made for some funny questions, though. For example, a friend's daughter who is one quarter Japanese with otherwise largely white Jewish ancestry, asking if she was black, and my son scrambling the basic 60s civil rights narrative and asking if MLK had dark skin or light skin.
