William married a prim & proper classy educated society woman in Kate who was from an acceptable high status family.
The Royal Family is just embarrassed that the ginger 2nd son(allegedly if you know what I mean) of Prince Charles married an American actress whose side gig was being a yacht girl. I want to feel bad for them but I can't. .

Seriously, does a day go by that there isn't a Markle/Harry headline in some tabloid. Pick any random day and I'll bet you $100 that there's at least one in the nearest supermarket.
It also makes for great "diversity" propaganda. "See, even the royals know the benefits of diversity.

The upper class is a culturally distinct group of aristocratic families. Many, most even, have been part of the upper class since 1066. And they’re part of a very insular community that stretches across the British Isles.

Imagine a self made man who earned millions selling cars. He would be completely out of place at an upper class dinner party.
He wouldn’t understand the unspoken rules that governed their behavior. He would also have very limited shared cultural experiences.
He didn’t go to boarding school. He wasn’t part of the regiment. He wasn’t a member at the club. He doesn’t fox hunt. He also listens to very different music, and watches very different movies.
He also speaks a different dialect of English.
You can become part of the upper class, or your children can, but it’s really a process of cultural assimilation. It usually happens through marriage, and it may take several generations.

He could have virtually ANY woman in the UK (and most of Europe and America for that matter). Any level of beauty, any level of education, any level of wealth, they would have been lined up around the block.

Good friend of mine knows both of them pretty well from growing up in London society and went to university with one of them. Other friends know Harry from his time as a pilot.
William is a shithead who has been cheating on Kate since before they were married. It’s effectively an open secret in London that their marriage is a sham marriage. Harry is actually a grounded and decent dude. British tabloids are about the last things that should be trusted.
