Mayor of Jackson, Mississippi is Chokwe Antar Lumumba

He's as radical as his name. His father was Mayor of Jackson a few years ago and died in office. One of the black members of the Jackson city council went all over the media saying he was murdered. Chokwe the father was a member of the Republic of New Afika. Jackson is 80% plus black and as radical as they come.

Would be a perfect place to build real life Wakanda then

Their sister city is Senegal Africa. Shocker there.

No. Wakanda had superior technology and knowledge. No way that would ever exist in Jackson.

Actually a crapton of folks in Africa are rooting for the patriot movement in America

Apparently he isn’t radical enough for some

quote:
Jackson, Mississippi’s Black mayor is celebrated as a “radical” in some quarters, but his cops kill, maim and abuse Black people just like police forces everywhere in the US.
quote:
The mayor’s reform efforts are meant to reconcile Black toilers with the Black led police state. This tactic of subverting ordinary people’s desire to handle their own judicial affairs in a direct democratic way is not new for Mayor Lumumba. Just as the mayor’s minions sustain “a people’s assembly” subordinate to his will, he doesn’t wish to see the self-directed initiatives in the streets found in Seattle, Minneapolis, Atlanta, and New York City come to Jackson. His way to beat ordinary people “to the punch” is by offering reforms that he and others in hierarchical government control.
quote:
The mayor has the unmitigated gall to propose a civilian complaint review process that he wants to control from behind the curtain. While across the country the discussion is on what terms to defund, dismantle, or abolish the police. The Mayor always brings a cup of water to a raging house fire after initially denying the house was ablaze.
quote:
He attempts to ameliorate the harm caused by the police state he directs by invoking his social identity and saying “as a black man” he understands. Mayor Lumumba is a phony who likes to pretend that his social identity means he has had the same experiences as the Black toilers in Jackson who have been maimed and killed by JPD. Ordinary people should tell the mayor to sell his “once upon a time when I was a Black man” stories to Disney.
quote:
Mayor Lumumba’s election should be recalled, and his Black led police state should be dismantled -- I did not say defunded -- immediately for killing eight Black people.

Notice none of the far leftest movements are in places where blacks have long had control, places like Jackson, NOLA, BR, etc.

I live in Jackson. Compared to some of his predecessors and current city council
members, he isn’t that bad. From what I hear he’s working well with local businesses and neighborhood groups. In the past 6 months, homeless camps along I 55 had become problematic. At times there would be 6 to 8 begging on both sides. People complained and poof, they’re mostly gone.
I think Baby Choke realizes that NE Jackson and Fondren/Woodland Hills are pretty much footing the bill for the whole town and he’s trying to keep the numbers shrinking any further.

Agree with a lot of what you say, but I had to go down to Briarwood and back last week and there were 3 homeless camped out begging that I saw, so they are still there. Maybe they went away for a while during the stay at home order and business was slow.

I rarely go that far North on the service roads, so I haven’t seen them. At Northside, Lakeland, Meadowbrook and Eastover (basically the Lefleur East neighborhood zone) they are pretty much gone

I used to know Adofo Minka pretty well. He was an introverted but competent public defender. He was actually a pretty nice guy. I don’t know what happened but he went total radical in about 6 months. I mean outspoken and hostile. Very strange.
