quote:I bought my 1st pack of cigs at the ripe old age of 6! Me, no adult with me, just me. I could barely see over the counter at the gas station/convenience store. Sure the clerk asked who they were for and I lied and said grandad was parked around the corner, but he sold them to me. No law against it back then.
Until beer and cigs is allowed at any age, including toddlers..
Then I started buying them out of the machine in the Fire Station vehicle bay near a buddies house. We'd ride our bikes to the station and grab a pack each out of the machine. Only once did any of the firemen even say a word.
High School only implemented Smoking Areas my sophomore year, freshman year it was open campus for smoking including inside buildings. I graduated in 1982.
I bought dip and chew at Target when I was playing Little League. There were several of us on the team that chewed/dipped during games and practice.
Age restrictions on tobacco are a relatively new thing. It was almost 1990 before talk of age restrictions in a lot of states came about. Mid-late 90's before they got around to passage.
quote:Hey! Just because it's Summer don't forget those hardworking, wage raise deserving, teachers! They are always in the news these days for screwing kids, more women than men too. And Mary-Kay LeTourneau did marry her pedo pupil.
teenagers having sex with older men - and it's kosher because they're married?

Problem with big government is when someone thinks that they think superior to others and that laws should be passed to allow their thoughts to rule over those others.
Paternalism today, paternalism tomorrow, paternalism forever!
So let’s see volod’s point.
So volod thinks he knows the best for ALL people. So 17 and 360 day olds are 5 days away from thinking competently. Therefore volod will pass his thoughts into law ruling their lives! But wait, you’re over 18 and agree that maturity and circumstances are highly individual and one size fits all laws are dictatorial? Tough, volod knows all, or at least more than you! That’s why HE doesn’t want individual parents from assessing their individual children under their individual circumstances!
Because volod knows more than the parents, the children, and everyone else.
I am from the belief that the average person is more qualified to run their individual life than some know it all from on high looking at actuarial tables. Both are human and WILL make mistakes, but it is more just for the individual to be forced to live with the consequences of their mistakes than yours.
One man, one vote!
Not, you are not allowed to vote if you’re not competent enough to spell CHRYSANTHEMUM-trust me!
You cannot get an abortion at 16 unless parents or a court approve.
You cannot join the service unless...
You cannot sign a legal contract unless...
Why do you insist upon dictatorial role of government over individual variables instead of the superior knowledge of the parents who are closest to the various needs and actualities?
Less government today, less government tomorrow, less government forever!
Paternalism today, paternalism tomorrow, paternalism forever!
So let’s see volod’s point.

The Republican-led House instead voted overwhelmingly in support of a rewritten version of the bill that says parental consent must be given for residents under the age of 18 to marry.

Toddlers can now pick their own gender over a trained physician's opinion.
I think 16 year olds are perfectly capable of deciding which fry cook or sandwich artist they want to contractually take care of their 2 year old.

16 years old? So it's OK to be a pedophile in Louisiana
Do not look at the progressive utopia's you long to be on this issue. You will not have a good time.

What the frick am I reading here??? How are conservatives OK with this??? Yea my dad's parents married at 15. Cool. Different times. The normalization of pedophilia was rampant back then like you see now. How are we not for marriage age based laws?
Scenario - child sex trafficker sells a 12 yo girl to some fricking creep who then decides to marry her to make everything "alright".... now what? Still mad the government is telling you what age you can marry? Grow up, hillbillies.

quote:Great point! If 2 year olds can determine their gender as some are doing these days according to MSM...can they not then, at age 2, pick their spouse? Both gender and marriage are MAJOR life decisions, gender maybe even bigger than marriage even.

Silly question with the politics of the DemProgFilth being supreme, but, where's the consistency on age limits? Can a transgendered 2 year old marry an illegal alien homeless typhus dreamer? How about with chain migration that illegal typhus alien's grandfather, can he marry the 2 year old tranny?
