Well the DC Police statement called it a gun, firearm, referred to "discharge" of a rifle and of finding at least two other firearms with the guy/his vehicle.
While I suppose it is possible the DC police could play up an air rifle or toy gun into an assault weapon, I doubt they're being that loose with press releases.
Dude is being charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

there is a very strong action coming from "above" to shut down the pizzagate topic, this incident could be part of it.

But in truth, who fricking cares. If you want to separate yourself from the conspiracy guys, go for it. If you don't, don't. If you want to spend all your time trying to shite on me, go for it. We'll talk shite to each other, and that's a valid use of this board IMO.
I like to discuss actual politics and policy, but sometimes I like to get into it with the groupthink morons who flip out whenever any differing viewpoint is uttered.

Go read the comments section on the Gateway Pundit articles. You're nuts if you don't think some people, including people on this board, would endorse what this guy did.
And yeah, I imagine we'd have even more outward expressions of support for this guy if you and I hadn't spent 3 pages talking about whether they would or not (in addition to those on page 1).
We're several pages in, and there are pretty much no posts going "frick, maybe this stuff is going too far." I find that pretty amazing, don't you?
