Most women are like this. They have a greater desire for compromise and acceptance then men. In politics people can count on emotional pleas to more easily sway them into giving up more than they should.

Has to suck that her party lied to their people to win a vote
Cameron was PM and on the remain side during the referendum. He's a Tory.

She didn't have to push Article 50 so quickly with no clue where anyone stood on the options.
The leave campaign did way oversimplify the process and vastly overpromise on what the UK would get out of it, especially in the short term. Making it impossible to deliver on the promise of the Brexiters. So she had a divided party, with a large group Brexit Ultras who aren't going to be satisfied with anything short of a hard Brexit with no consequences vs a group that is against a hard brexit at pretty much all costs and different ideas within this group of what Brexit should be.
There was no compromise that would get them all across the line for a vote, and no deal Brexit wasn't acceptable either. A second referendum was also not an option...so what the frick are they supposed to do?
Makes it hard to negotiate an exit agreement, when your side can't agree on anything. Doesn't give you much leverage either, especially since the short term certainly hurts Britain more than the EU.
May took on a nearly impossible task, but then just kept shooting herself in the foot to make it certainly impossible. I've got little sympathy for her today, except for the notion she should be allowed to punch David Cameron in the face every minute for an hour.

No sympathy from me.
Was hip deep in the effort to kneecap Trump.
Fought Brexit at every turn.
