Are we taking medical advise from a sports talk radio host now?

It’s far more deadly than the flu. That’s not even a debate. That being said, yes people are losing their minds.

Wouldn't surprise me. It's a new virus, and at this point reported CV R0 exceeds Flu. Combined with an incubation period several-fold longer than flu, and this thing should spread like wildfire. Perhaps it's early and we'll see flu-like distribution. But that seems not to be the case.

It would be nice if we were assembling real data here instead of restricting testing to artificially keep numbers low.

So, Birx and Fauci are sacrificing their reputations for politics?

I don't know how to respond to that.

Obviously, demonstrably, bodies are not piling up in the streets and hospitals aren't overloaded. So, if the infection numbers were higher, it would look even less lethal. What is the point of hiding something that has spread and is obviously spreading? There was a technical fumble in February that cost us some time in getting testing ramped up. It happens.

Changes to the way CDC and FDA operate are going to more than pay us back for that temporary setback in future infectious disease outbreaks.

This will be a net positive for us when this is all over.

On the flip side, the mortality rate would drop substantially and no one would care about this anymore.

I don't think anyone knows what the #@%÷ is going on.

Many experts have said the mortality rate is lower than the flu.

Then others, like the infectious disease expert Rogan had on, say it's 15 times worse than the flu.

WTF mate?!

Clay Travis said it so it must be true! This idiot was talking about all the PENN National stock he bought over the weekend, definitely like to him on matters of public health though.

Same guy on Rogan’s podcast said it is an airborne illness, while others are insisting it’s not. I really have no clue what to believe.

If there's one authority I trust on the coronavirus, it's Clay Travis.

Exactly! The Trump strategy of denying the possibility of the virus spreading
quote:

”the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that's a pretty good job we've done."

Coupled with the restrictions on testing while everyone knows it’s spreading rapidly, means that the people have to fight this alone. That kind of idiot response leads people to panic.

we're about a week from being able to reasonably firm up the SoKo CFR.

I'd agree with this statement.

If SKorea's rate is still this low in a week, let's copy everything they did immediately.
