I get the comparison to Trump.

Both Lake and Trump value a rude, confrontational approach with people who challenge them. Neither Lake nor Trump has demonstrated an ability to adequately debate issues on their merits or even fully understand the cause and effect relationship of their policies with intended outcomes. But admittedly, few politicians outside of Rand Paul and Ted Cruz can.
