bumping the drone

dumping fuel on the drone

or

coming in real close over the drone air intake and flogging the hp to the plane blowing combusted air into the drone air intake shutting down the drone. I believe that senario has been used in a Maverick type movie or two

Embarrassing if you and others believe it did.

The Reaper image I found on YouTube shows a prop on the rear of the drone so if a Russian jet damaged the prop and not the engine I hope there's a video so we can see how this ace Russian pilot pulled this stunt off.

I would like to see that clip too because I thought the "heart" of a jet fighter is located in the nose of the plane. Why would they risk damaging that?

This would be a suicidal move. No pilot outside of a Kamikaze would entertain touching any piece of their plane onto another. In this situation, you would have to put the nose of the Russian plane into the rear prop of the drone. No way on earth this occurred how it is being portrayed. However, the Russians are fond of vodka.

Real dumb. Likely an accident or we aren’t being told the truth.

tipping their wings is a much safer solution

I am glad it wasn't a global hawk. They are a lot more expensive. Like one of the bank SVB bank accounts we are bailing out, expensive.

Plus, it has a jet and not prop.

I wonder where the reaper was launched from?

It would, and it did.

The v tail does make it difficult to imagine many options.

I guess the Russian could have been below it and the prop clipped his tail or cockpit or other part of his (her/the/them/kidding) plane?

Yes, and your point is a valid counter-point to the poster you replied to.

I mean the brits were tipping wings as far back as WW2.

But shoving part of your aircraft into the propeller of a different aircraft is a different thing entirely. Im having a hard time buying that part was intentional.

Agree, I think they were attempting to cause the drone to depart flight, if anything I am guessing the SU-27 deployed it's speed brake from below the drone to slow down. Got a little too close and clipped the prop.

I am going out on a limb and speculate the Rus plane didn't physically hit the drone but simply shot it down.
