It really was a boneheaded move.

Pretty much sums it up. This corporate preaching is already so tired and trite.
And really, if you take a step back and think about it, it’s just downright weird and out of place. Imagine sitting down with your financial planner from Fidelity and them pausing the meeting and saying “let’s take a moment to talk about how men need to respect women more.”
Uhh, no. Let’s just stick to business.
And yeah, Joe and his guest make a great point. Who the frick are they preaching to? Does Gillette really think that the guys who do the things they portray in this ad are gonna stop and think “huh, maybe I should change my life. You know, because Gillette said so.” frick no. Their “audience” who would actually respond to this ad in some way are decent people who are already trying to act decent and teach their kids to act decent.

The guys in that video were like, you know, uhmmm, I mean valley girls. They sounded more stupid than the Gillette commercial, which is saying a lot.

What exactly did he say? Nothing earth shattering...
Half the clip was his stoner buddy talking about rural towns and southerners being labeled as racist and dumb. Which he really shouldn’t be the one arguing against it, because he isn’t that bright and can’t put together a complete sentence himself.
And btw, I think the Gillette commercial is stupid and hope it hits them hard in the wallet.

Except half the video was not that at all.
