There's this thing called the internet. You and I are communicating by way of it right now. If we could organize into two factions in 1865 when communication depended upon a guy delivering a message on horseback, I think the infrastructure is there to do it much easier today.

Look, I agree that we're miles and miles and miles away from taking up arms against the government. Heck, probably millions of people believe that our current president stole a free and fair election yet no one did anything about it except for break into the Capital building and take some selfies. Nobody took up arms against the government.

If they had, though, 100 people with a coordinated strike on members of Congress would be capable of disabling the government. At least temporarily.

But yeah, we're still waaaaayyyyy too comfortable and have waaaaayyyyy too much to lose and are waaaayyyyy too soft to use weapons against the government.

However, there is a point at which we would. When all the bread and circuses are gone. Again, that scenario isn't in sight anywhere right now, but as others have pointed out, it's never in sight. Until it happens.

The point is that there is a difference between being ready to mount an armed resistance (we're not...not even close) and being able to mount one if we were ready (sure).
