Except he is doing exactly that. "Full stop."
On a scale of 1-10 how angry does this news make you?

Is it an international waterway in the first place? My understanding is countries get 12 miles out, so it's roughly half Iran's and half Oman's.
But, this is where I laugh at Marco citing international law. This administration has thrown that concept in the trash. You can't then use it when you want.

Everything about this Iranian fiasco angers me. Why just limit it to bullshite put out by Trump on a daily basis?

You didn't answer the question. Everyone here wants to know just how angry this makes you. We hope it makes you all the way angry. 10 out of 10.

No. Both Iran and Oman control 12 nautical miles off their coasts per international law. The strait is 21 miles wide at its narrowest point. Which means their territorial waters overlap.
You might think that this means Iran can unilaterally just close down their territorial waters, but they cannot. They are bound by international right of transit laws.
So Iran can threaten to close down the strait, but they are violating international law if they try to actually do so.
