quote:I've said it numerous times, this country suffers from mental illness. It is certainly highlighted on this board. How else would you explain the fact that they identify the media as fake news yet can't get enough of it when seeking truth?
Dude, the fake news told us it was. So it must be true.
Lots of Jekyll and Hydes around here.
That damn liberal media! I am so sick of them being so biased and pushing propaganda and lies onto us.
HOW DARE YOU SAY ISIS ISN'T WHAT THE MEDIA SAYS IT IS? ISIS is an actual grassroots terror organization with no ties to the CIA or Mossad, the media told me so. Are you going to simply not listen to what the media tells us?
That damn liberal media! So biased! Ugh!
It's the battered wife syndrome. She continually gets beaten up, but just keeps coming back thinking things will be different this time.
It's like Charlie Brown thinking "this time" Lucy is going to hold that football for him to kick.
It really is sad to see, but this board takes it to a whole new level. It's fascinating to watch.

It's pretty damn hard to kill a multigenerational ingrained ideal spread through the bastardization of a religion into the uneducated masses of war torn region of the world

Well, apparently CNN just let us know the swamp is supporting them, so maybe there's your answer
it's not the Onion, & it's right in people's faces

We are allied with the Kurds in Iraq and Northern Syria. End game looks like it is shaping up as an independent Kurdistan. Push back from Turkey, Russia, Iraq, Syria will be significant. Will be very interesting how it all gets sorted out.

The amazing thing to me is that ISIS exists in the first place. That it, along with groups like al qaeda and boko haram, are allowed to even exist. All those vast numbers of peaceful Muslims who reject violence would presumably stop such groups from ever existing. I mean it's only a handful of bad apples.
Yeah it's almost like turning the region into a war zone for tbe last 15 years hasn't helped.

The vast number of peaceful Americans weren't able to stop the Bush Administration from going into Iraq without just cause.
Sometimes the people with the guns make all the rules.

and when Assad is removed who will take his place? My guess is some radical militia leader. Face the facts we fricked up big time in Syria. Supporting the Sunni head choppers against a modern secular strong man... I mean I had a friend who went to Syria as a Christian missionary before the war.
Also please show me where Congress voted and approved for us to go to war there. I don't believe shooting down planes of a sovereign nation and building military bases inside their country could be construed as anything other than an act of war which again has to be voted on by Congress
