I'm simply setting forth the "possibility" that in wartime [we are at war....right] anything is possible. Including the chance an enemy [ISIS et al] could possibly carry out a nuclear attack [via dirty bomb] provided they could, 1) acquire the nuclear material {which they have], 2) smuggle the bomb [or components] into this country [not impossible given our pourous southern border] and, 3) assemble and detonate the thing in a major city.

Please let me continue. Assuming your service in the region was with the military, you would understand something about military tactics. Successful large scale [and small] military operations depend on stealth and surprise. For example...."Desert Storm". Sadaam Hussein poised the bulk of his divisions to move quickly into Kuwait. {We can now say he underestimated the capability of the Coaliton Forces] The mobile American forces [led by M-1 Abram Tanks] simply moved west and around the flank of the Iraqi forces and executed "Shock and Awe". The rest is history. Another example....the French Maginot line. French build a massive entrenched defensive line to defend the country against invasion. Along comes the German Wehrmacht who simply "flank" the Maginot line, and invade France. The rest is history.

My point is this? Never underestimate the enemy determined to kill you. The terrorist who boarded those planes on 9/11 got pass the most sophisticated security screening possible. The system [X-ray, etc) was designed to spot a weapon hidden in a briefcase or luggage. What did the terrorist do? They smuggled box cutters in their carry-on, and used them to slash the throat of at least one crew member.

Projecting my logic to the threat of a nuclear attack from ISIS. If ISIS etal intends to launch an attack [nuclear or conventional] on the United States [which they have announced they intend to do] we had better pay attention and plan for all possibilities, and that includes a plan to "kill them before they kill you". And we had better have people at the highest level of government [including POTUS] who understand the seriousness of the threat and are capable of functioning in reality. You can bet that in the case of an attack its their sorrow arse who will be moved to a secure bunker.....not yours.

If we haven't learned the lessons of appeasement from the 1930's then we are doomed to repeat our mistakes.If we do not kill these crazy thugs today, what happens when they overthrow Pakistan or Iran? Do they start WW3 do they sneak a dirty bomb into N.Y. ?

The time to stop them is now, if we wipe out all these terrorists now, the moderate muslims can then take their countries back from the crazies.

Well for starters no Muslim army would be able to march on the west. Dirty bomb could happen but an actual nuke. Who is going to weaponize it?
