Why are you arguing with someone with whom you agree?

I argued a specific point, not your position.

Sure, but morality isn't necessary to show why we shouldn't make rape, theft, and murder legal. I think that was OP's point. Maybe not.

That is definitely part of my point. The majority of people who argue against abortion use morality or outrageous analogies. Although, to be fair, the majority of people who argue for abortion tend to use the "it's my body" argument.

I actually think there IS a secular argument against abortion, not that it means it should necessarily be illegal.

1) It's killing. A heart is stopping, and a living organism is dying. That doesn't make it murder, but it is killing.

2) It is killing a human, if we are talking genetics.

So a human life form is being killed, and in all cases where humans kill other humans there is regulation and discussion.

So, I guess I really made no stance, except to say that I think most of the arguing that typically goes on is dumb.

ETA I accidentally hit submit in the beginning and had to edit this in chunks. Oops.

Have you EVER seen me argue absolutes in terms of abortion all the way back to conception?

That's irrelevant. I didn't make the statement based on your arguement. Congrats. It changes nothing.

You said it ALWAYS becomes absolute.

ALWAYS.

Do you have some unique definition you use for the word always?

You gave an example of how something can be justified as illegal sans a moral component?

That isn't what was asked.

Correct, I said "the argument," not "your argument."

I've asked it several times.

But hey. Let's pretend I didn't.

Now, it's asked.

Answer?

Not in that line. Follow it back.

Oh. So, you're holding everyone involved in an abortion argument to the standard of the biggest most extreme.

Yeah. That's just goofy.

That means that all pro-choice arguments devolve into being OK with murdering babies after they fall out because SOME pro-choice people think that.

Welp..

We're 6 pages in.

You're still not interested in actual discussion.

I've already answered that question. You had some follow-up questions, I believe.

Well. I was interested in discussion. I made a legit attempt.

That makes one of us.

Out.

No, I am, but I'm not interested in listening to your assumptions. I'll also not allow words to be put in my mouth.

You have some catching up to do after your meltdown the other day.

I asked for examples several times and specifically avoided assuming what your examples would be.

It didn't matter.

You were more interested in word games. As always.

Now, I get it. That's really your whole point in any thread but hey, I felt like giving it a shot.

But, we'll finish with you achieving the same goal you are always chasing.

Running in circles until the other poster calls it a day.

It would be more wise for me to just remember the truth of it.

I don't find the word "wrong" to be an effective argument against either a point or an position. If you want to go down an argumentative rabbit hole, I choose not to follow you.

You aren't the only poster in the discussion. I explained to you that we'd get to it. You didn't like that answer, but you should know that I don't care about that.

Now, you want to frick around because you're special in some threads that you still haven't pointed to.

You'll get a discussion, but it might not be on your terms. Deal with it.
